Where mistakes become harder to spot
When working with unfamiliar languages, reviewing text becomes less about precision and more about guesswork. A typo in English is easy to catch. The same mistake in German or French might go unnoticed. In more complex scripts like Japanese or Chinese, it’s almost impossible to validate visually without external help.
I can’t realistically proofread every language myself — but I still need to be sure the UI is clean.

Without proper tooling, this leads to uncertainty. Either extra time is spent double-checking outside Figma, or errors risk slipping into final designs.
A reliable check, regardless of language
SpellCheck gave Alena a way to validate text directly in her design files, even when working with multiple languages. Instead of relying on manual review, she can run a check and instantly see spelling issues across supported languages like English, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Greek.
The process stays simple: run the check, review highlighted issues, fix them in place.
It removes the doubt. I don’t need to know the language perfectly to know something is wrong.

Because everything happens inside Figma, there’s no need to copy text into external tools or interrupt the workflow.
